TRENDS ALERT
"I created a
selection of blossom
fl owers – different in
scale, larger ones with
stamen detail in the centre
and painted all of them completely
in gold. I made some small dark
blue tiny berries to break up the
gold and bound them into small
clusters to break up the gold and
tie into the blue background. This
also reiterates the wildness of the
garland. I bound the fl owers onto
a thick gauge wire to make a trellis
and assembled the piece into a
half moon shape. I made little wire
hooks to secure the trellis in place."

A RUSTIC LOOK, ARE
HUGE THIS YEAR.
1 Roll out the pastel
coloured modelling
paste to approximately
1cm thickness.
2 Cover the top of the
modelling paste with
clingfi lm and press the
circle cutter into the
paste, this will give a
rounded edge to the
macaron shells.
3 Use a Dresden
tool to score a line
approximately one third
from the bottom of each
macaron shell.
4 Use a Dresden tool to
rough the edges of each
shell to create the feet
of the macarons.
5 Pinch out circles of
white sugarpaste to
create the macaron
fi llings. I like to keep
these irregular for a
more realistic look.
6 Assemble the macaron
as shown, using edible
glue if necessary.
