Rehinge the wrists into a full finish
If you don’t rehinge your wrists to the finish of the swing, your shoulders
will dominate and you’ll lose balance. Once you perfect this drill, you
might wonder why you don’t play like it all the time.
Hit practice shots with your knees together
My favourite drill is hitting shots with the knees together. They can move
a little in response to the coil of the torso, but they mustn’t separate. If
your wrists don’t hinge correctly, you will topple over.
KEEP LEFT
KNEE FLEX
AT IMPACT
Because Tiger now has a more balanced and orthodox
golf swing and doesn’t need to jump at the ball quite
as much as he used to through impact, he doesn’t clear
his hips as quickly as he did when he was younger and
more fl exible. At his peak, Tiger’s hip clearance was 50
percent quicker than anybody else’s on Tour. It’s now
much easier for him to sync the club to the body and the
arms. He’s not as wild as he used to be through impact.
