NEEDLES AND TOOLS
3.25mm knitting needles
4.00mm knitting needles

MEASUREMENTS
To fit chest: 41, 46, 51, 56, 61cm
Finished fit: 48, 53, 58, 63, 68cm
Garment length: 22, 26, 30, 34, 39cm
Sleeve length: 12, 15, 19, 23, 27cm

TENSION
24 stitches and 32 rows to 10cm over
Stst on 4mm needles

WORKING PATTERN
LONG SLEEVED SWEATER WITH
BANDS OF STRIPES
BACK
Using 3.25 mm needles and A, cast
on 57 (63, 69, 75, 81) sts.
Noting that first row is a WS row, work
in garter st for 1 row, finishing on a
WS row.
Break off A and join in M.
Work in g st for a further 6 rows,
finishing on a wrong side row.
Change to 4.00mm needles.
Starting with a Knit row and joining in
and breaking off colours as required,
now work in stocking st in stripes as
follows:-
Using M, work 3 rows.
Using A, work 1 row.
Using M, work 3 rows.
Using B, work 3 rows.
Using M, work 2 rows.
Using B, work 1 row.
Using M, work 2 rows.
Using A, work 2 rows.
These 17 rows complete striped
border.
Starting with a Purl row, continue in
stocking st using M only.
Continue straight until Back measures
11 (14, 17, 20, 24) cm, finishing on
a WS row.
