Dec 1 st at each end of next row, then

at beg of following row. 5 sts.

Right Sleeve Only
Cast off 2 sts at beg and dec 1 st at
end of next row, then dec 1 st at end
of following row. 8 sts.
Dec 1 st at each end of next row, then
at end of following row. 5 sts.

Both Sleeves
Rept last 2 rows once more.
Next Row: RS - K2tog and fasten off.

MAKING UP
Join all raglan seams by top-sewing.

NECKBAND
With RS facing, using 3.25mm needles
and M, starting and ending at back
opening edges, K across 10 (11, 12,
13, 14) sts on left back neck holder,
pick up and knit 6 sts from top of left
sleeve, and 5 (7, 7, 9, 9) sts down
left side of front neck, K across 13
(13, 15, 15, 17) sts on front holder,
pick up and knit 5 (7, 7, 9, 9) sts up
right side of front neck, and 6 sts from
top of right sleeve, then K across 10
(11, 12, 13, 14) sts on right back
neck holder. 55 (61, 65, 71, 75) sts
Work in garter st for 5 rows, finishing
on a WS row.
Break off M and join in A.
Work in garter st for 1 row more,
finishing on a RS row.
Cast off knit wise (on wrong side).
Join side and sleeve seams by top-
sewing. Make a button loop at one

end of neckband and attach button at
other end of neckband to fasten back
neck opening.

LONG SLEEVED SWEATER WITH
STRIPED SLEEVES
BACK
Using 3.25mm needles and M, cast on
57 (63, 69, 75, 81) sts.
Noting that first row is a wrong side
row, work in g st for 7 rows, finishing
on a WS row.
Change to 4.00mm needles.
Starting with a Purl row, now work in
reverse st st until Back measures 11
(14, 17, 20, 24) cm, finishing on a
WS row.
Break off M and join in B.
Starting with a Knit row, now work in
stocking st throughout.

Shape Raglan Armholes
Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows.
51 (57, 63, 69, 75) sts**
Dec 1 st at each end of next 1 (1,
1, 3, 3) rows, then on 1 (0, 0, 0, 0)
following 4th rows, then on following
4 (7, 9, 9, 11) alt rows. 39 (41, 43,
45, 47) sts.
Next Row: WS - P19 (20, 21, 22,
23), inc in next st, P19 (20, 21, 22,
23). 40 (42, 44, 46, 48) sts.

Divide for Back Opening
Next Row: RS - K2tog, K18 (19, 20,
21, 22) and turn, leaving remaining
20 (21, 22, 23, 24) sts on a st
holder.
Work on this set of 19 (20, 21, 22,
23) sts only for first side of back
opening.
Next Row: K2, P to end.
Next Row: K2tog, K to end.
Last 2 rows set the sts – back opening
edge 2 sts in g st with all other sts
still in stocking st.
Keeping sts correct as now set,
continue as follows:-
Dec 1 st at raglan armhole edge of
2nd and following 7 alt rows. 10 (11,
12, 13, 14) sts
Work 1 row, finishing on a WS row.
Break yarn and leave remaining 10
(11, 12, 13, 14) sts on another st
holder (for Neckband).
Return to sts left on first st holder, re-join

yarn with right side facing, Knit to last 2
sts, K2tog. 19 (20, 21, 22, 23) sts
Next Row: P to last 2 sts, K2.
Next Row: K to last 2 sts, K2tog.
Last 2 rows set the sts – back opening
edge 2 sts in g st with all other sts
still in stocking st
Keeping sts correct as now set,
continue as follows:-
Dec 1 st at raglan armhole edge of
2nd and following 7 alt rows. 10 (11,
12, 13, 14) sts
Work 1 row, finishing on a WS row.
Break yarn and leave remaining 10
(11, 12, 13, 14) sts on another st
holder (for Neckband).

FRONT
Work as follows remembering to work
section below armhole using M (in
reverse st st) and raglan armhole
section in B (in st st) as given for Back
of sweater.
Using 3.25mm needles cast on 57
(63, 69, 75, 81) sts.
Noting that first row is a wrong side
row, work in garter st for 7 rows,
finishing on a WS row.
Change to 4.00mm needles.
Starting with a Purl row, now work in
rev st st throughout as follows:-
***Continue straight until Front
measures 11 (14, 17, 20, 24) cm,
finishing on a WS row.
Break off M, Join in B.
Starting with a K row now work in
stocking st throughout.

Shape Raglan Armholes
Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows.
51 (57, 63, 69, 75) sts
Dec 1 st at each end of next 1 (1,
1, 3, 3) rows, then on 1 (0, 0, 0, 0)
following 4th row, then on following
8 (10, 12, 11, 13) alt rows. 31 (35,
37, 41, 43) sts
Work 1 row, finishing on a WS row.

Shape Front Neck
Next Row: RS - K2tog, K7 (9, 9, 11,
11) and turn, leaving remaining 22
(24, 26, 28, 30) sts on a st holder.
Work on this set of 8 (10, 10, 12,
12) sts only for first side of neck.
Dec 1 st at neck edge of next 4 rows,
then on following 0 (1, 1, 2, 2) alt
