Paula Davies & Aaron Maunder

6 JULY, 2013
COOLABINE RIDGE ECO SANCTUARY, MAPLETON, QLD
PHOTOGRAPHY: STUDIO IMPRESSIONS

Sticky notes and a quirky tradition played important roles in Aaron, 34, and Paula’s, 37, engagement. The couple,
both motor sports enthusiasts, had met at a car rally. They’d been together for three years when, in 2012, Paula
took advantage of the leap-year opportunity to propose, on a note, stuck somewhere where she knew he’d look.

MOUNTAIN HIGH The couple
wanted to marry at Coolabine Ridge.
On a walk around the property they
found the rock garden with its
outlook over the valley, and decided
that was the place for their
ceremony. They booked the whole
venue, with its accommodation, for
themselves and their 13 guests — all
family. Paula’s gown was the first she
tried on; Wendy Makin’s ‘Marianna’
design in Mocha is mermaid style
with a ruched silk bodice and tulle
skirt. Because they married in winter,
she also bought a deep pink
beaded cardigan from
Alannah Hill.
