SOMETHING BLUE ‘I wore a pair
of blue heels for my “something
blue” and I loved the cute ribbon
detailing on the front,’ says the
bride of her satin Karen Millen
shoes. ‘They didn’t cost as much as
bridal shoes and I have worn them
since the wedding too,’ adds
Mandy. After a church service, the
couple and their guests celebrated
within the grand walls of The
Australian Club – a historic
gentlemen’s club.
DIY BRIDE The couple decided
against one specific floral colour for
their reception, opting for an array
of flower varieties and hues instead
- the bride and her family created
the arrangements for the day. ‘Apart
from all the different blooms I also
collected a variety of lace table
runners and different rustic photo
frames to use as table decorations - I wanted to ensure that no two
tables looked the same. It was cost-
effective as I collected one-off
pieces but threw cheaper items into
the mix too,’ says the bride who
used a low-cost, online printing
service for her DIY stationery.
Stock, gerbera and
dahlias are just some of
the blooms the bride
chose for the day. Mix
up colour and
variety for a ‘just
picked’ feel.
