Michelle and David, both 24, are traditionalists. From the moment David proposed — on bended knee — Michelle
says she knew she would wear a romantic dress, that David would look dapper, that they would marry in a
Catholic ceremony, and that their reception would be ‘a reflection of all things timeless and classic’.
THE RIGHT GUY ‘The tea ceremony that David
requested we have at our ceremony, to honour my
late grandmother meant so much to me,’ says
Michelle. For the ceremony, David wore a lavish
Chinese red and gold silk shirt, called a Tang-
Zhuang. ‘In keeping with tradition, we served our
family members, from eldest to youngest, a cup of
jasmine tea using customary Chinese
porcelain. The moment of seeing David
dressed in traditional Chinese attire
reaffirmed why I married him,’ recalls
the bride.
GENERATIONS OF LOVE David and
Michelle’s seating plan for their 86
guests was placed beside framed images
of their parents’ weddings, which were
captioned, ‘We come from a long line of love’.
And they danced to Etta James singing At Last. ‘I knew
quite early on in our relationship that David was my one
and only,’ says Michelle. ‘The classic romanticism of
this song embodied everything we are as a couple.’

your gown or asking
your florist to create
a hairpiece.
