HOW I DID IT
This image was taken at my
son’s property when he was
having a clean up on the five
acres in the paddock. The
heat of the fire was intense
with the heat haze rising. To
capture this I opted to take
the image to include both the
haze and the flames.

HOW I DID IT
I had the opportunity to photograph
a sugar cane fire which was part of
a bus tour in Childers, Queensland.
Because you don’t know when
the farmers are going to burn their
cane, and a cane fire only lasts a
few minutes, it is difficult to be in
the right place at the right time to
capture them.
