Better brew
Next time you’re wondering why
those last few kilos just won’t
budge, take a look inside your
co ee cup. If you fi nd you’re one
of the many who take their
ca eine with a side of milk, sugar
and dash of caramel syrup,
you just found your answer.
Buzz-kills from the University
of Illinois say that people who
drink black co ee down fewer
kilojoules than those who add
some tasty treats (*cough*
whipped cream) to their brew,
so if losing (or maintaining) your
weight is top priority, it might
be time to dial down the added
fl u. On the fl ip side, tea
drinkers were found to be less
likely to add anything to their
brew, so if you can’t stand co ee
on its own, down a cup of
trusty Earl Grey instead.
