Markus Walcher is the sub 30-year-old German driver selected

by BFGoodrich to compete as a rookie in 2018’s Dakar Rally.

While this is the rst Dakar outing that Markus has entered,

his father competed in eight Paris-Dakar rallies throughout

the 80s and 90s, so he’s certainly ahead of the curve when it

comes to informed coaching.

BFGoodrich are supporting Markus during the race, seeing

the skilled young driver as the perfect test pilot to rep their

tyres at the event. For those who’ve been living in a cave, the

Dakar Rally is the pinnacle of international offroad motorsport and

is an annual desert race from Paris, France to Dakar, Senegal that

has been running for 40 years.
