is because, I hope, they allow us
to glimpse the soul of the animal
through the intimate depiction.
And a real inspiration for me in
this field is a French animal artist
Christophe Drochon, whose skills
and vision are breathtaking.
Most of my still lifes feature
natural objects such as shells,
feathers, driftwood, stones, sea
glass and also manmade objects.
Sometimes these artworks are
just studies of the object’s
uniqueness, but often they have
some secret meanings or carry
human feelings, emotions and
memories. Through delicate and
respectful handling, I try to reveal
inherit beauty and characteristics,
enabling the viewer to re-examine
