Row 1: (1dc, 1ch) in first tr, 1tr in
first ch sp, (1ch, Cluster) in each ch
sp to turning ch lp, 1ch, 1tr in each of
next 2ch.
Row 2: (1dc, 2ch) in first tr, (Cluster,
1ch) in each ch sp to turning ch, 1tr
in turning ch.
Last 2 rows form patt for rem.
Work 1 row, changing to C for final lp.


Begin stripes
Note: Carry yarn loosely along side
edge of work when not in use until
required again.
Work 2 rows C.
Work 4 rows M.
Rep last 6 rows for Stripe Patt.
Cont in stripe patt until Back measures
approx 33 (40, 44) cm from beg,
ending with patt row 1. **
Work 3 rows.


Shape shoulders
Note: Use colour of previous row
to work sl sts at beg of shoulder
shaping rows.
Keeping stripes correct, Row 1: Sl
st in each of first 5 sts, (1dc, 1ch) in
next ch sp, Cluster in next ch sp, patt
to last 3 Clusters, 1tr in next ch sp,
turn, leaving last 5 sts unworked.
Row 2: Sl st in each of first 4 sts, (1dc,
1ch) in next ch sp, Cluster in next ch sp,
patt to last 3 Clusters, 1tr in next ch sp,
turn, leaving rem 4 sts unworked.


Shape back neck
Row 3: Sl st in each of first 4 (4, 6)
sts, (1dc, 1ch) in next ch sp, Cluster
in next ch sp, (1ch, Cluster) in each of
next 1 (1, 2) ch sps, 1tr in next ch sp,
fasten off.
Miss next 9 (13, 13) ch sps, join
appropriate yarn with a sl st in next
ch sp, (1dc, 1ch) in same sp as sl st,


Cluster in next ch sp, (1ch, Cluster)
in each of next 1 (1, 2) ch sps, 1tr in
next ch sp, fasten off, leaving rem 4
(4, 6) sts unworked.

Keeping stripes correct, Row 1: (1dc,

for first side of neck.
Row 2: Sl st in each of first 0 (2, 2)
sts, 3ch, Cluster in next ch sp, patt
to end.
Row 3: Patt to last 2 Clusters, Cluster
in next ch sp, 1tr in turning ch.

Shape shoulder
Next Row: (1dc, 1ch) in first tr,
(Cluster, 1ch) in each of next 7 (7, 9)
ch sps, Cluster in next ch sp, 1tr in next
ch sp, turn, leaving rem 5 sts unworked.
Next Row: Sl st in each of first 4 sts,

ARMHOLE BANDS
Join shoulder seams. Measure 16 (18,
20) cm down from each shoulder
seam on Front and Back and tie a
coloured thread at side edges. Join
side seams to coloured threads,
matching stripes.
With RS facing and using 5mm hook,
join C with a sl st in side seam.
Work 2 rounds dc evenly around
armhole.
Using M, work 2 rounds dc, then using
C, work 2 rounds dc. Fasten off.

NECKBAND
With RS facing, using 5mm hook and
C, beg at left shoulder seam, work
13 (14, 14) dc evenly along left side
of front neck, work 11 (13, 13) dc
evenly across front, work 13 (14,
14) dc evenly along right side of
front neck, then work 23 (29, 29) dc
evenly across back neck, sl st in first
dc at beg. 60 (70, 70) dc.
Work 1 round dc.
Using M, Round 3: 1ch, * 1dc in
each of next 8dc, Dec, rep from * to
end, sl st in first dc. 54 (63, 63) dc.
Work 1 round.
Using C, Round 5: 1ch, * 1dc in
each of next 7dc, Dec, rep from * to
end, sl st in first dc. 48 (56, 56) dc.
Work 1 round. Fasten off.

Do not press. Sew in ends.
