he new 1/48 scale

W
e have been watching
the development
of the Dora Wings
Savoia Marchetti S.55 since it
was irst announced last year.
This innovative design irst
lew in 1926 and the type set
no less than fourteen diferent
records. And unlike many
other record-breaking aircraft
of the time over 240 machines
were produced and it was used
by the Italian Air Force as a
long range patrol aircraft.
Dora Wings have just supplied
us with photographs of a built
up example and you can see
that this kit looks like it will
be quite an easy build despite
the fully detailed and exposed
engines and the unconventional
fuselage arrangement. We hope
a full production example will
be with us in time for a First
Look in next months issue.
