Over the next few pages we’ll take

you on a meandering tour of the

Photoshop toolbar. Along the way we’ll stop

of to explain a range of powerful tools.

Some of these – like the Quick Selection tool

or the Dodge and Burn tools – are recognized

classics of the Photoshop interface, while

others – like the Rotate or Color Replacement

tools – are perhaps less well-known but

surprisingly useful. Even tools that you might

have dismissed, such as the Magnetic Lasso,

can reveal hidden depths.

After our journey through the toolbar,

we’ll fnish of with a tutorial on how to

create the cover image, which uses a host

of other tools like the Pen and 3D Move tools.
