they open the doors of what looks
like a Rat Bus! The classy look is
added to in the cab by repainting all
metal, including the dash and air
vent, as would have been originally
done and the fitting of a Deluxe
Microbus white steering wheel,
complete with Wolfsburg logo horn
push and plush carpeting.

Whilst the old 1200cc engine has
been replaced, don’t expect some
monster performance motor lurking
in the engine bay! A good old 1600
twin porter, with electronic ignition
and twin ICT carbs does the job
perfectly, though they do confess a
bigger engine and a brake upgrade
are things they are thinking about ...
Adam tell us, “All round we are so
happy with the outcome, getting
the stance we wanted without
compromising the ride quality too
much. Exterior wise it has come out
better than we imagined and to be
finished off with a beautiful interior
really made it the complete package.
Nothing beats going for a drive in
it on a nice day. The next job is to
finish Lee’s patina Bay however.”

From the outset they wanted to

preserve as much of the original paint

and signwriting as possible
