5 TOUCH DOWN
Right before the bike touches down start
to rev the engine up so the rear wheel is
driving as soon as it hits dirt. Brace
yourself ready for the landing with your
knees bent and chin over the ’bar and
your elbows up nice and high. Absorb the
impact with your knees as the bike lands
and keep the throttle on hard. If you don’t
land with the throttle on then the bike will
come to a stop and you will go sailing over
the handlebar. Have a nice day.
6 RIDE IT OUT
Accelerate right down the ramp and into
the next obstacle. If there’s a corner
coming up then, once you have left the
down-ramp, you can start to slow down
and set up for the corner. If it’s another
jump then you can stay set up and carry
your momentum into the next jump. Start
out practicing on small jumps before
building your way up to the bigger jumps.
Don’t shoot for the biggest jump on the
track fi rst up.

WIDOW POTENTIAL
There’s always potential for things to go
wrong when you are taking on a jump. The
trick is to start out small and build your
way up. Don’t take on the biggest jump on
the track on your first lap. Take on the
smallest jump first and only move on once
you have that jump dialed.
BRAGGING RIGHTS
Launching a jump or clearing a gap is the
ultimate. If the gap is big enough then it
can even have the potential to get you
Instafamous. It might even get you that
chick you’ve been chasing on Facebook but
haven’t had the guts to slide her a DM yet.
WHY
BOTHER?
To clear jumps, go faster and win
races. If that doesn’t do it for you
then how about impressing your
mates or even the girls? Everyone
loves a big jump, especially if it’s
clearing a big gap on a 2T that
nobody else has the knackers to do.
ON THE
LEVEL
If the front wheel is too high in the
air then pull in the clutch and tap
the back brake. This will drop the
nose down. If the front wheel is too
low then hit the throttle and the
spinning back wheel will level the
bike out. Never grab the front brake
in the air as the sudden stop in
rotation of the front wheel can lead
to a nose dive.
