The Ears
Ears can be difficult to draw too as they are
made up of complicated, intertwining shapes.
Look at each shape of the ear in Fig.09 and
take note of how the structures interact with
each other. See how the earlobe splits into two
sections; one section wraps all the way outside
the ear and then back in, and the other section
curls around to make up the inside of the ear.
When drawing a whole head, it’s important to
keep in mind that it does not matter how well
you can render out an ear, if the perspective
is off, your drawing will look wrong. If you are
having trouble getting the perspective of the
ears right, think of them as a 3D “D” shape as
I have drawn in Fig.09, and add them to the
structural drawings of your heads to check them.
