A look at the sleek hull suggests the new 34 footer from Grand Soleil certainly sits at the racier end of the

cruiser-racer bracket, but take a step below and she is also remarkably well appointed. Grand Soleil has

produced this versatile design in part in response to the popularity of the JPK10.10 and Sunfast 3200; both

boats have done well in IRC in recent years and, in particular, have been a popular choice for short-handed

sailing. As such the boat comes with a number of options, including two differing keel types, asymmetrics

set from a fixed bowsprit or symmetric set from a pole. Further options include tillers or wheels for steering

and alloy or carbon mast. Short-handers are likely to go for the tiller and symmetric options, whereas the

keel and rig options will most likely depend on whether owners are looking to optimise for IRC or ORCi.
