categories seem to be suffering:
open and sailing. The decline in
open yachts could be explained by
adesireforlowerfuelconsumption.
For sailing yachts, the market is
evolving.Mostclientsarerepeat
customers, with newcomers hard
tofind.Therehavebeenaround50
salesayearoverthepastfewyears,
counting both the brokerage and
new build markets, but sailing
brokerageisgrowingeveryyear
(from32in2015,to38in2016and
42 in 2017), while new build declines.
Motor yachts, however, show a
clearincreaseinconstruction.The
number of expedition yacht
projects also continues to grow –
andrecentnewordersseemto
confirm that the trend will continue.
