EDITOR’S LETTERAs a media brand at the front and center of the superyacht industry, we strive
to keep conservation at the heart of much that we do – from the stories that
we tell, to the people we celebrate, to our actions as a company. Our annual
Ocean Awards, which we launched with Blue Marine Foundation only three
years ago, are a huge part of this efort, as they bring attention to some of
the truly amazing people and organizations working to maintain and repair
the health of our ocean playground. We received nearly 100 entries for this
year’s awards, which were debated and sifted by an expert panel. You can
see all the winners from page 79, and I hope you find their stories and
achievements as inspiring as we do. One shining example of conservation-
minded superyachting is the astonishing 350ft Black Pearl, newly crowned
the world’s largest sailing yacht. She’s enormous, yes, but it’s her owner’s
demand that she set an example for green standards that really sets her
