Raymarine AXIOM Pro owners

can now control a drone directly

from their MFD while enjoying live

streaming video and high quality

photos from the air.

Currently compatible with DJI Spark

and Mavic UAV drones, the new

technology opens new possibilities

for boaties and fishers. For example,

anglers can live stream battles with

trophy fish to big screens on board

for real-time viewing

and save video to watch later

or share with friends.

As well as launching the drone,

the MFD can be used to instruct

the drone to hold station near the

moving boat, circle the vessel for a

bird’s-eye view, and to check on a

work-up or on friends’ boats nearby.

Other handy features include a single

button launch/track/record control

and a GPS link with several ‘follow’

modes, for easy, hands-free drone

operation. Owners can also instruct

the drone to take high quality still

images at any time.

The new technology will be on

display at the Lusty & Blundell stand

at the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat

Show in Auckland in May.
