long-standing Serie A record when he scored
36 times for Napoli (ITA) during the 2015–16
season. The previous best of 35 goals had been
set by Gunnar Nordahl (SWE) for AC Milan (ITA)
in 1949–50. Higua®n scored a hat-trick against
Frosinone on the final day of the season to beat
it, finishing with a spectacular overhead kick.

On 14 Mar 2017, keeper Iker Casillas (ESP) made his

OF THE UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE
Sevilla (ESP) won their third consecutive UEFA
Europa League title on 18 May 2016, beating
Liverpool (UK) 3–1 in the final at St Jakob-Park
in Basel, Switzerland. Manager Unai Emery (ESP)
was involved in all three triumphs – the most
wins of the UEFA Cup/Europa League by a
manager, tying with Giovanni Trapattoni (ITA).

LARGEST SECOND-LEG COMEBACK
IN A CHAMPIONS LEAGUE KNOCKOUT TIE
On 8 Mar 2017, FC Barcelona (ESP) fought back from
a 4–0 first-leg deficit to win 6–1 against Paris Saint-
Germain (FRA) at the Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain, for a
6–5 aggregate victory. The Catalan side scored three goals in
the final seven minutes, with Neymar netting twice before Sergi
Roberto (pictured) scored the decisive goal in the 95th minute.
