THE EXPERT TOUCH

Watersports are synonymous with yachting,
so it’s no surprise that the best fitness
instructors on Burgess superyachts have
been participating in sea-based activities
almost since they could walk. Marcel Busse,
captain of Nero, grew up in a seaside resort
in South Africa and caught both the
hospitality and yachting bugs at an early
age. He and his crew delight in sharing their
knowledge and passion with the 90.1m
vessel’s guests. “We have almost every type
of watersports equipment known to be
carried on a yacht, so I am sure we can cater
to every need, from young to old,” he says.
“We are so intent on delivering enjoyment
that guests can only leave wanting more.”
For Chris Russell, captain of Aquila, it
was his own early boating adventure that
launched him into the world of superyachts.
“It was around 1995, when I was sailing my
10-metre sloop from the UK to New
Zealand, that I had my first encounter with
a superyacht,” he explains. “I was invited on
board a 39.6-metre classic sailing schooner
for a beer, and the captain and crew
were interested in my single-handed
sailing adventure across the Pacific. That
evening, I learned about the superyacht
industry and I was hooked.”
