There are a few different ways elimination diets can be conducted. We will
discuss a basic elimination diet as well as an advanced elimination diet.
Basic Elimination Diet
A basic elimination diet removes the most antigenic foods for three weeks
while allowing most gluten-free grains (except corn).
A diet clean of reactive foods should be followed for three weeks and
should at least remove the top eight antigenic foods: gluten, dairy, soy,
eggs, corn, nuts, shellfish, and preservatives as well as possibly night-
shades, caffeine, alcohol, legumes, citrus fruits, fructose, grains, and tu-
bers such as potatoes.
After three weeks, foods are introduced one by one, every three days, to
help unmask hidden food reactions.
