estled in the Austrian Alps,
at an altitude of 1,050
metres, Holzhotel
Forsthofalm is a wonderful
scenic escape for any
travelling yoga and spa fan.
After a short flight to Salzburg from
London, and a 90-minute transfer, the
winding road that leads up from the town
of Leogang finally reveals the hotel itself,
made of timber and oozing a warm, Alpine
welcoming charm.
Originally opened as a restaurant in the
early 1970s by the Widauers, it only began
its life as a hotel in 2008 after the couple’s
son Markus developed the site, adding
rooms, the Kukka restaurant, Sky Spa and
SPAnorama.
