Yoga stamps
Japan has released a new set of postage stamps that feature various Indian yoga
experts. The new stamps celebrate how yoga legend Bishnu Charan Ghosh and his
family members spread Indian postural yoga in Japan years earlier. The set also
includes his son Biswanath Ghosh, daughter Karuna Ghosh and Karuna’s father-in-
law Asutosh Ghosh. It is the first time Japan has released postal stamps on any yoga
experts. Last year, India unveiled its own commemorative postage stamps on Surya
Namaskar ahead of International Yoga Day in 2016.
Most wanted
A notorious former yoga teacher and cult leader has made it to the top of Europe’s
most wanted list. Romania’s Gregorian Bivolaru - also known as Magnus Aurolsson
- skipped bail in September after a conditional release from prison and is now being
tracked by Europol across the continent. He is charged with various offences, including
human trafficking and sexual abuse, in France and Finland between 2006 and 2013.
Bivolaru was the founder of the Movement for Spiritual Integration into the Absolute,
after yoga was legalised in Romania following the 1989 revolution.
