Step 11: Once you’ve painted the first layer, repeat on nine more layers. For each
layer, change the brush size, the brush color and, if you want, the brush tip too (as
I did here). This is where experimentation comes in. The best part of Photoshop is
that if you aren’t happy with a bit of sketch, just press Command-Z (PC: Ctrl-Z) to
Undo it, and paint it again. These 10 layers are what will give us our animation.

Step 12: Now that we have our type and sketch layers, we need
to begin building our animation. Go to Window>Timeline to bring
up the animation panel, which should open at the bottom of your
workspace. Click the Eye icon next to each of the sketch layers to hide
them except for the first one (Layer 1).
In the middle of the Timeline panel, you’ll see a button that says
“Create Video Timeline.” Click on the down-facing arrow next to that
button, and change it to Create Frame Animation. Now click on
that button, and this will create the first frame in the Timeline
based on all the visible layers. Click the bottom area of this frame,
and select No Delay in the pop-up window.

Step 13: Click the new frame icon at the bottom of the Timeline
panel, which will duplicate the currently selected frame. With the
new frame active in the Timeline, hide Layer 1 in the Layers panel,
and click where the Eye icon used to be for Layer 2 to make it
visible. Repeat this step until you have 10 frames for each of the
10 sketch layers.
