“A Modern Vision: European
Masterworks from The Phillips
Collection” will feature 50 master-
works—the most iconic—from the
Phillips Collection, America’s first
museum of modern art, which
opened in Washington, D.C., in 1921.
Artists featured will include Édouard
Manet, Gustave Caillebotte, Claude
Monet, Berthe Morisot, Vincent van
Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas,
and other giants of the modernist
movement in Europe. The paintings
range from the early 19th century to
the mid-20th century.
