Medium-weight 100% acrylic yarn:
brown, cream, black
Crochet hooks: Size L/11
(8-millimeter), I/9 (5.5-millimeter),
E/4 (3.5-millimeter)
Yarn needle
Polyester fiberfill

CROCHET TOE


Rnd 1: Using 8-millimeter hook and two
strands of brown yarn, ch 2, 6 hdc in
second ch from hook, close row with sl st
(6 sts).
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc, hdc in same st, 2 hdc in
next 5 sts, close rnd with sl st in center of
fi rst st (12 sts).
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc, hdc in same st, hdc in
next st, 2 hdc in next st, rep from
to
second to last st in rnd, hdc, close rnd with
sl st in center of fi rst st (18 sts).
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc, hdc in same st, hdc in
next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st, rep from
to
third to last st in rnd, 2 hdc, close rnd with
sl st in center of fi rst st (24 sts).
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc, hdc in same st, hdc in
next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st, rep from
to
end of rnd, close rnd with sl st in center of
fi rst st (30 sts).
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc, 1 hdc in fi rst st, hdc in next
14 sts, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 14 sts,
close rnd with sl st in center of fi rst st

Fasten off and cut yarn.


CROCHET THE FOOT


Rnd 1: Using 8-millimeter hook and two
strands of cream, attach yarn, ch 1, hdc
in each st around, close rnd with sl st in
center of fi rst st (32 sts).
Rnds 2–10: Hdc in each st around, close
rnd with sl st in center of fi rst st (32 sts).
Leave cream yarn attached, so it can be
picked up to attach heel.


CROCHET THE HEEL


Rnd 1: Using 8-millimeter hook and two
strands of brown yarn, beg to make heel
separate. Ch 2, 6 hdc in second ch of the
hook, close rnd with sl st (6 sts).
Rnd 2: Sc, 2 hdc in fi rst st, 2 hdc, 4 hdc
in next st, 2 hdc, 1 hdc again in fi rst st,
close rnd with sl st in center of fi rst st (this
creates 4 sts in fi rst st) (12 sts).
Rnd 3: Sc, 2 hdc in fi rst st, 5 hdc, 4 hdc
in next st, 5 hdc, 1 hdc again in fi rst st,
close rnd with sl st in center of fi rst st (this
creates 4 sts in fi rst st) (18 sts).
Rnd 4: Sc, 2 hdc in fi rst st, 8 hdc, 4 hdc
in next st, 8 hdc, 1 hdc again in fi rst st,
close rnd with sl st in center of fi rst st (this
creates 4 sts in fi rst st) (24 sts).
Rnd 5: Sc, 2 hdc in fi rst st, 11 hdc, 4 hdc
in next st, 11 hdc, 1 hdc again in fi rst st,
close rnd with sl st in center of fi rst st (this
creates 4 sts in fi rst st) (30 sts).
Fasten off and cut yarn.

ATTACH THE HEEL


Begin where you stopped with cream, use
sc and attach one side of the heel to the
foot with 16 sc from inside the stocking.
Continue with cream using 16 hdc until you
meet other side of heel; go back again to
the fi rst brown corner with hdc. Continue
to attach the other side of the heel using
16 hdc.

FINISH STOCKING BODY


Rnds 1–15: Hdc in each st around, close
rnd with sl st in center of fi rst st (32 sts).
Rnd 16: Hdc to back of sock, ch 10, sl st
chain to close hanging loop.
Fasten off and cut yarn.

enough yarn for attaching face to stocking.

CROCHET THE SNOUT


Rnd 1: Using 3.5-millimeter hook and one
strand of cream yarn, ch 2, 8 sc in second
ch from hook, close rnd with sl st (8 sts).
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st to end of rnd, close
rnd with sl st (16 sts).
Rnd 3: Sc in each st to end of rnd, close
rnd with sl st (16 sts).
Rnd 4: Sc in each st to end of rnd, close rnd
with sl st, leaving a long yarn tail (16 sts).

FINISH THE STOCKING


Thread yarn tail onto a yarn needle, then
stitch snout to face, stuffi ng with a small
amount of polyester fi berfi ll before closing.
Using black yarn, yarn needle, and small
straight stitches, stitch the eyes and nose.
Using yarn tail on face, attach face to
stocking, adding a small amount of fi berfi ll
before closing.
