MATERIALS
Three clear glass ball ornaments
Rubbing alcohol
Paper towels
Artists brushes
DecoArt Americana Multisurface
Satin acrylic paint: Buff Beige,
Brown Sugar, Coffee Bean,
Cotton Ball, Paprika
Transfer paper
Old ballpoint pen
Sheet of neutral color felt
Fine-tip permanent marking pen
Hot-glue gun and glue sticks
Cord or jute
PREPARE THE ORNAMENTS
Remove hanger from each ornament. Clean
the outside of each ornament using a paper
towel and rubbing alcohol; let dry. Paint
each ornament using Buff Beige; let dry.
Enlarge face patterns in Pattern Pack
to fi t the ornaments; trace patterns onto
white paper. Using transfer paper and a
dried-up ballpoint pen, trace a pattern onto
each ornament.PAINT THE ORNAMENTS
Deer Ornament: Paint the head and
bridge of nose using Brown Sugar. Paint
the eyes and nose using Coff ee Bean. Let
dry. Add highlights to eyes and nose using
Cotton Ball; let dry.
Owl Ornament: Paint the head and bridge
of nose using Coff ee Bean. Paint eye rings
using Brown Sugar. Paint the eyes using
Cotton Ball; let dry. Paint the pupils using
Coff ee Bean. Paint the beak and stripes on
eye rings using Paprika; let dry.Fox Ornament: Paint the head and
bridge of nose using Paprika. Paint the
eyes and nose using Coff ee Bean; let dry.
Add highlights to eyes and nose using
Cotton Ball; let dry.ADD THE EARS
Using Brown Sugar, Coff ee Bean, and
Paprika, paint one 3-inch square each onto
felt; let dry. Trace ear patterns in Pattern
Pack onto white paper; cut out.
Using a fi ne-tip permanent marking
pen, trace deer ears onto felt painted with
Brown Sugar. Trace owl ears onto felt
painted with Coff ee Bean and fox ears onto
felt painted with Paprika. Paint inner ears of
deer and fox Buff Beige. Cut out the shapes.
Hot-glue ears onto appropriate
ornament. Insert an ornament hanger back
into each ornament.
Tie an 8-inch length of cord or jute onto
each ornament for a hanging loop.
