Greg: Welcome to the show, Teacher Ted.
Ted: Thank you, Greg. I’m happy to be
here.
Greg: You’re a high school teacher. What
subjects do you teach?
Ted: I teach math and science.
Greg: Do many students take those
classes?
Ted: Yes. All students have to take math
and science.
Greg: What other subjects do students
take?
Ted: They take English, history and a
foreign language.

Students in 9th through 12th grade
attend high school. In America, their
school day starts around 8 a.m. and
ends around 3:30 p.m. Students take six
classes during the day. They have about
an hour for lunch in the middle of the
day. They study English, history, math,
science and a foreign language. They
can also choose to take PE, drama, band,
choir or other classes. Students must go

After school, some students have sports
practice or another after-school activity.
