SET THE STONE
Hold the stone face up in the setting, and use
nylon-jaw pliers to bend each of the four prongs
down onto the face of the stone. Set aside.
CRAW FRAME
1) On 2 yd. (1.8 m) of thread, and leaving a 6-in.
(15 cm) tail, use 15 0 seed beads to work a cubic
right-angle weave (CRAW) strip that is eight
units long. Then sew through the adjacent side
bead in the end unit (figure 1).
2) Using the four beads on one side of the end
unit as a new base, work 13 new CRAW units
perpendicular to the first eight units (figure 2).
This forms an L-shaped piece with an inner
surface and an outer surface.
Capture a pear-shaped crystal stone within a cubic right-angle
weave (CRAW) frame for a dramatic yet delicate pendant fit
for a night on the town.

3) Sew through the end unit to exit the end
bead on the outer surface. Pick up two 15 0 s,
and sew through the same 15 0 your thread just
exited. Continue through the first 15 0 just added
(figure 3, a–b). Pick up a 15 0 , sew through the
next 15 0 in the previous pair, the other three
end 15 0 s, and the three new 15 0 s (figure 4, a–b).
Set this piece aside.
4) Repeat steps 1–3 to make a second
L-shaped piece.
JOIN THE FRAME PIECES
1) Place the two L-shaped pieces next to each
other with the eight-unit legs at the bottom and
the corners facing away from each other.
note The surfaces that are currently
facing you will be referred to as the
front, but the actual front and back
won’t be established until you add
the crystals.
With the tail on one piece, sew through the four
150 s in the end ring to exit the front surface end
bead (figure 5, point a).
2) Pick up a 15 0 , and sew through the corre-
sponding 15 0 on the other piece (a–b). Pick up
