in this step, and the next end inside surface 15 0
in the other piece (b–c). Your needle should be
pointing toward the back surface.
3) Pick up a 15 0 , and sew through the corre-
sponding 15 0 on the inside surface of the other
piece, the first 15 0 added in the previous step,
and the 15 0 your thread exited at the start of
this step (figure 6, a–b).
4) Flip the beadwork over so the back surface
is facing up. Sew through the next back surface
150 in the end ring, pick up two 15 0 s, and sew

through the corresponding 15 0 on the other

piece, the 15 0 added in the previous step,

the 15 0 your thread exited at the start of this

step, and the first 15 0 in the pair just added

(figure 7, a–b).

5) Pick up a 15 0 , and sew through the next

150 in the pair, and the following two end 15 0 s

in the other piece to exit the 15 0 on the inside

surface (figure 8, a–b).

6) Flip the beadwork over so the front surface

is facing up, and sew through the next front

surface 15 0 in the end ring and the first 15 0

in the pair added to the front surface in step 2

(figure 9, a–b). Sew through the single 15 0

added in step 5 on the back surface, the next 15 0

in the pair on the front surface, and the next end

150 on the other piece (b–c). End both tails.

SHAPING

1) With the working thread at the end of a

13-unit leg, sew through the beadwork as needed

to exit the end unit 15 0 along the outside edge

on the front surface. Your needle should be

pointing toward the other end of the frame

(figure 10, point a). Pick up a 15 0 , and sew

through the next edge 15 0 (a–b). Repeat this

stitch three times (b–c). Sew through the next

edge 15 0 without adding a bead (c–d), and then

add eight more 15 0 s as before (d–e).
