lighten the upper areas. Beige pigments were
then used on the loor area to give a look of
dust and dirt.
In the next step the two halves of the
fuselage were assembled, and the huge clear
canopy mounted. A little bit of putty and
sanding was necessary at the area along the
canopy and at the upper area to get a smooth
surface. The rear side was mounted separately
and added to the fuselage together with the
drive train of the tail rotor, and the weapon
ixings. The canopy was then masked-of
after assembling all the main parts of the
helicopter, and the doors and the rear entry
were temporarily closed with pieces of an old
sponge. I again used my own black mix once
again, which I used for the interior. The main
and tail rotors were painted Matt Black to get
some tonal variation. After a gloss coat, the
decals were applied and sealed with a Matt
coat. The entire surface was then dry brushed
with light pigments – with more added on the
upper areas to brighten up the paint. Aluminum
was then dabbed in various places to represent
