Henri Bourgeois 2017 La Chapelle des Augus-
tins (Sancerre). A vineyard once owned by
monks (who chose their sites well) has produced
a beautifully ripe wine. Its green fruitiness is still
young, offering richness and density as well as a

With a third of the wine aged in barrel, this
is a broad, spicy Sauvignon Blanc. The acidity has

Marne (Sancerre). This wine is all about fruit.
Its bright texture and acidity are part of the crisp

morello cherry orchard that stood where the vine-
yard is now. The 25-year-old vines produced a ripe,

who built a villa where Pouilly now is, this is a ripe,
smoothly textured and ageworthy wine. Ripe apples
