6■ Nick is thrilled and
relieved when he is
awarded custody of
Christian. “This decision
seems pretty final,” says
Joshua Morrow (Nick).
“The court of law has
determined that Nick is
a more suitable guard-
ian than Adam. Nick has
gone the legal route and
it seems like this ruling
should be it, but Adam
is a snake in the grass, so
who knows what he’s up
to next.”
On Christian’s first
night back, Nick explains
that Connor has returned.
“Both boys have been
through the wringer with
life situations, so hopeful-
ly they can lean on each
other,” affirms Morrow.
“They did have some
impacting years togeth-
er before the break, so
they can now pick up the
pieces and form a bond
again. They don’t know
that they’re brothers but
they’ll have each other.”
Chelsea and Connor
show up with pizza and
the foursome enjoys a
casual dinner. “Before
Chelsea left, the four of
them were building some-
thing together,” Morrow
points out. “Nick isn’t
Connor’s father but he
cares very deeply aboutthis little guy, and Nick
thinks he’ll be a stabi-
lizing presence. He’ll do
anything to raise Connor
the way that he should.”
After the boys go to
sleep in their rooms, Nick
and Chelsea relax whilesharing wine. He muses
how good it is to have
her back in his life, even
though it’s just as friends.
“Nick fell deeply in love
with this woman and
then she left,” Morrow
reminds. “Because of
that, there were things left
unsaid and unresolved
between them. After he
dealt with the heartacheand anger, he still loves
her, so he knew he had
to give her all of the time
and space she needed
to deal with everything
that is going on with her
life. So, going forward,
he’s been leaving it up
to Chelsea to determine
the depth of what they’re
dealing with.”
Chelsea surprises Nick
by kissing him, which
then leads to them mak-
ing love. Morrow adds,
“It’s been a long time
coming but after they’ve
dealt with this first round
of Adam, I think Chelsea
feels comfortable enough
to take that initial first
step. Wherever it goes
from here, who knows?
