Alpine A110/Porsche Cayman
The A110 is holding its value
well so you won’t find it at
bargain prices. You could
always try the brilliant
Porsche Cayman. The same
money easily buys one of the
last flat-six 981-gen cars.
BMW 320d
It’s early days for the seventh-
gen G20 320d but you might
find one for £31k, a neat but
not considerable saving.
However, for the same outlay,
you could upgrade to a barely
used 520d and live like a king.
Porsche 911 GTS (991.1)
For £20k less than a new
Carrera S, you could have a
991.1-gen GTS. It’s almost
as quick, too, with 0-62mph
in 4.0sec, 430bhp and a top
speed of 189mph – plus it’s one
of the last of the atmo 911s.
Ford Fiesta ST200
This small Ford has always
been a cracking car, but the
ST200 is the best previous-
gen Fiesta. Subtle tweaks to
the suspension, gearing and
steering made the car truly
shine. You’ll need £11k now.
McLaren 720S
The 600LT is our best driver’s
car award winner, but the
older 720S is no couch potato,
with 710bhp and a second-gen
version of McLaren’s clever
proactive chassis control
system. Think £170k.
