ade from heat-treated, precipitation-hardened 17-4
stainless steel, the Hell re Self-Timing Muzzle
Brake, from Area 419, utilizes a universal adapter
that af xes to the muzzle via a 5/8" wrench, allowing
users to install, adjust and remove the brake from the
adapter for cleaning by way of a knurled, tool-less locking
ring. Area 419 wisely includes index marks on the unit’s
muzzle end for expedient alignment. Three sets of rear-
facing ports channel expanding gases to mitigate recoil
and muzzle rise, allowing the ri e, and the shooter, to
stay on target during operation. The unit can be ordered
for calibers ranging from .223 to .338, with accommoda-
tion for most imperial and metric muzzle threads. Black
nitride or raw-stainless nishes are available. Price: $165.

LaserMax VP9 Guide Rod Laser

aserMax has extended its line of Guide Rod Lasers to
include a model compatible with Heckler & Koch’s VP9
pistol. A replacement recoil spring guide assembly
with a solid-state laser diode in its face, when installed
within the handgun and activated, the Guide Rod Laser
emits a pulsed red beam wherever the VP9 is pointed.
Weighing only half an ounce, the unit is constructed of
hard-coat-anodized aluminum with genuine Wolff springs,
and can be easily user installed without any special tools.
The company claims the laser’s aiming point will be within
1" of the rearm’s point of impact at 10 yds., and our range
