RUNWELL AUTOMATIC
Shinola announced in the spring that it had started producing a mechanical
automatic version of its signature Runwell collection using imported Swiss
Sellita movements in watches assembled in Detroit. Now the watches have
landed, with prices ranging from £905 to £995.
They come in 39.5mm or 45mm cases with domed sapphire crystal front
and back. The back has a small portal giving a glimpse at the Selita SW200-
1’s oscillator.
Shinola says it has been working on incorporating automatic movements
into its Runwell family ever since they launched in 2013. “This is definitely an
evolutionary moment for us,” a spokesperson says.FOSSIL
CURATOR SERIES
Chris Cho, a product design intern from a leading
art college in California, has been credited as the
designer of a limited-edition addition to its Curator
Series for Fossil. The company says it has a tradition
of working with aspiring design students who work
within the product development teams.
Mr Cho set out to fuse fan-favourite
details of bestselling Fossil styles into
a new design platform that combines
vintage design with a modern
vibe. Fossil is known for its large
watches, so Mr Cho chose a
46mm case that would give
him plenty of room to work.
The watch has a tactile
knurled top ring framing
a black two-tier dial with
subdials at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock
in a chronograph model.
Each limited-edition watch is
individually numbered and retails
for £159 in select Fossil stores and on
fossil.com.PANERAI
RADIOMIR IN GREEN
Panerai has produced four versions of its Radiomir watch with
matte military green dials. There are three 45mm models,
all in steel. One is a simple two-hander with small seconds,
another also has a GMT hand and the third an on-dial power
reserve. In addition there is a 48mm piece with hours,
minutes and small seconds. They are offered on brown calf
leather or canvas straps. Prices range from £9,600 to £11,200.
They will only be sold in Panerai boutiques.
