thing on the mind of every soul
during the build-up to the race
at the Sachsenring: will anyone stop
Marc Marquez in his bid for a 10th
victory in Germany? Would Andrea
Dovizioso make a comeback in a hope to
keep the race for the championship alive?
Would the youngster, Alex Rins, Fabio
Quartararo, and Maverick Viñales, all so
promising, rope in the Honda maestro?
Or how about a charge by The Doctor,
number 46, as in the good old days?
There were other questions, too. What
madness will we see this time around
during the Moto3 race, as quite often
those single-cylinder machines are
cornering four abreast? Or how will the
other Marquez, Alex, fare in Moto2 after
his crash in the previous round? Will
Alex continue his domination of the
Moto2 championship?
In the end, there were two things that
were certain. Firstly, the Moto3
continued to enthral us with absolute
madness once again. Secondly, the
Marquez dominance was squared once
again and how.

MotoGP
Qualifying saw the usual suspects taking
up the front row with Marquez,
Quartararo, and Viñales in first, second,
and third respectively. Alex Rins took the
fourth position, which meant that Marc
had the hungry youngsters hounding

impressive race initially, but with his
tyres wearing out, he was soon caught up
by a marauding group consisting of Cal
Crutchlow of the LCR Honda Castrol
team, the two Ducati factory riders,
Danilo Petrucci and Andrea Dovizioso,
and the Pramac Racing team Aussie,
Jack Miller.
Cal Crutchlow got the better of the
group and pulled away to take a
comfortable third and final spot on the
podium.
The MotoGP now takes a little
breather before heading to Brno for the
Czech GP. Will Marquez continue this
domination we have become
accustomed to? Or will there be another
challenge to the champion?

him. But this was the Sachsenring, there was no rider as prolific
as Marquez at this track and, boy, did he prove that once again.
At the get-go, there was a scramble for the lead into corner one,
as always. The pack initially seemed to have got a better start that
the Spanish pole-setting champion, but as the bikes neared the
first apex, Marc slid his way into the lead. There were indeed a
few challenges made, especially by the prolific Yamaha factory
team rider, Viñales, but once the Honda man set into a rhythm,
there was no stopping him. Marc Marquez continued a flawless
race to take his 10th win at the Sachsenring and, in turn,
furthering his extremely commanding position in the
championship standings.
Maverick Viñales of the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP
team rode a lonely race to take second
spot in what is turning out to be a period
of good form for the young Spaniard.
The other youngster on the front row,
Fabio Quartararo of the Petronas Yamaha
SRT team, took a tumble earlier in the
race, followed soon thereafter by the third
young front-running talent of Team
Suzuki Ecstar, Alex Rins. Not the best
day in the office for the two at all. This is
the second consecutive race that the
Suzuki rider has crashed out and not a
good thing for his championship position
of fourth currently.
Rins’s teammate, Joan Mir, did ride an
