Frequently, the weakest area of a 1:
figurine is the hands, often moulded as little
more than amorphous blobs of plastic. To
remedy this, Royal Model have released
(as have others) sets of 1:35 resin hands in
various poses that are an easy swap for the
figure's moulded parts.
Italeri's 1:35 Lince LMV kit gets an extensive
detail set for the interior and exterior, plus a
separately-available set of resin seats. Top

STAR DECAL, SWEDEN
Although it's the most well known US tank of the Second World
War, it was actually the British who first deployed the Sherman
in combat, pitting them against Rommel's Deutsche Afrikakorps
in the north African desert during the early stages of the
conflict. In this set by Star Decals we have markings for five
Sherman Mk.IIIs, all but one in the 'model-friendly' light-stone/
blue-black camouflage scheme used during the campaign.

Model Scene make a wide range of vegetation
products for dioramas – focusing on railway layouts
- but with a good selection of scale-modeller friendly
1:35/1:32 items too. Recently arrived at MiM from
UK importer Albion Hobbies is a pack of 'spring'
bushes in full leaf and is a perfect, ready-made
small tree/large bush for a 1:35 diorama or even
a large tree in 1:72. The material appears to be
finely ground foam, attached to very natural-looking
branches. Also new is a pack of sunflowers in laser-
cut paper and card, with wire stalks. Ideal for a
diorama featuring a garden or similar.
