Four Wheeler – October 2019

(Frankie) #1

Feature Red Rock Revelry

Brandon “Derty Beerd”
Meyers caught many
eyes with his Chevy van
rocking a 3-inch lift and
35-inch tires.

Kevin Walker brought about 9,000 pounds of six-wheel action
to the trails with his ’90 CUCV. His 6BT dumps power into the
NV4500 before the Offroad Design Magnum Box and triple-
sticked NP205 split it between the axles. Both the Dana 60 front-
end and the Dana 70HD rearend hold on to Hummer wheels and
37-inch BFGoodrich tires, while the 4.56 gears and Detroit lockers
deliver power to the ground. Though the truck came stealthily
stocked with a replacement for every segment of the driveline—
spare main leaf springs, an extra tie rod, an emergency rear axle-
shaft, a backup steering ram, and a pair of Warn winches—the
doors stayed at home in Texas for the journey to Moab.

Bob and Shaunda
Parrish brought their
Ram down from
Wyoming armed with a
small-block, new rock
sliders, and Pit Bull
tires. The big Dodge
couldn’t be stopped by
ledges, boulders, or even
sheared engine mounts.
