Four Wheeler – October 2019

(Frankie) #1

Matt Johnson brought one of his many projects over from Norwood,
Colorado, to Moab this year—and he told us it is titled as a ’74
Chevy K10. With a 383 under the hood, a TH350, and an Offroad
Design Magnum Box, the truck has gear reduction to direct torque
smoothly to the rocks via his 1-ton axles and 40-inch tires. Even
sweeter is the custom swinging tire carrier and bed setup out
back, which holds a fullsize spare, coolers, and trail tools.

expert spotter who volunteered to guide fullsize
rigs through some of the trails for the 2019 Fullsize

from the side, and you’ll notice the 17 inches cut from the bed.
Take a step inside, and the interior cage and custom-built mountain
bike storage system will further impress you, second only to Derek’s
skills as he weaves the truck over and through the rocks of Moab.

Esteban Solano’s ’03 Chevy 2500 didn’t always
have a front driveshaft, but now it does, and we’re
glad he was out crawling the trails this year. His 37s
and rocker protection complemented the truck’s
long wheelbase, making playing in the rocks easy.
