Airlines and graces:
right now, the perks of
turning left are all about
the in-flight vanities

By LILY WORCESTER

D

ame Joan Collins
learnt the hard way
that in-flight skincare
can be a tricky business
when, entering the US, she was
held up in customs and questioned
for failing to produce a readable
fingerprint. Why? Because, as she
told Tatler, she had moisturised her
hands to such a degree that the
scanner could not detect a finger-
print. Security faux-pas aside, jet-set
skin will outlast any layover. Here
are the cabin kits to help you
attain a picture-perfect arrival.

BRITISH AIRWAYS
A floral Temperley London wash-
bag awaits first-class passengers,
crammed full of Elemis wonders,
including its ultra-hydrating,
limited-edition sea lavender and
samphire hand cream. Business
fliers do well, too. They get skincare
from The White Company, zipped
up in a chic washbag.

AMERICAN AIRLINES
Cult Singapore brand Allies of
Skin, an industry favourite
adored by Kendall Jenner’s
make-up artist Aidan Keogh,
has created three new products
for American Airlines’ first and
business customers. The shea
butter face cream, hand cream
and lip balm make for wonder-
fully supple skin – even at
35,000 feet.

CATHAY PACIFIC
First-class passengers can enjoy
the very best of luxury apothecary
brand Aesop – Rind Concentrate
Hand & Body Balm is particularly
glorious – while in business,
expect products from botanical-
based skincare brand Jurlique,
including their Balancing Day
Care Cream.

E M I R ATE S
Byredo, an A-list must-have
that’s adored by the likes of
Kate Bosworth, fills Emirates
first-class amenity kits. Its beauty
bags are brimming with snooze-
inducing goodies, including a
pillow mist and sleep oil. Bulgari
kits that feature the brand’s
signature Eau Parfume Au Thé
Vert fragrance are standard in
both first and business.

LUFTHANSA
Lufthansa has gone all out with
its on-board skincare, so those
seated up front can enjoy a
travel-sized version of La Prairie’s
ultra-lavish Cellular Swiss Ice
Crystal Cream – the full-size
tub typically retails at £267.
Meanwhile, business travellers
can expect L’Occitane products,
a favourite of Anne Hathaway.

ETIHAD AIRWAYS
Flyers opting for the Residence
class on the Airbus A380 can
enjoy gorgeous Acqua di Parma
soap, shampoo, conditioner and
a selection of eau de parfums in
the luxury of their three-room
cabin with private shower. First-
and business-class passengers can
also indulge in creams and
fragrances from the Italian
heritage brand.
