LIGHT
REFRESHMENTS
Want to look tighter,
brighter, a little less tired?
There’s an aesthetic tweak
to help. Here’s what to get
done and when
By FRANCESCA WHITE
guide you through everything with
calmness and compassion.
Pain factor The surgery, which is
performed under a light general
anaesthetic, is not painful (though
the skin on the neck can feel taut
immediately after, as a result of the
muscles tightening), and you’re sent
home on little more than paraceta-
mol to keep things comfortable.
Downtime Grover’s careful tech-
nique minimises, or even eliminates,
bleeding (which means bruising is
reduced – 60 to 70 per cent of pa-
tients don’t have any). After one
night in hospital, you’ll return home,
where you’re instructed to do very
little, in order to keep any swelling
down. Grover will personally remove
your stitches two weeks later, and
you’ll be back to work that week.
Social events can resume in three
weeks; you can go to the gym in four.
Results Grover’s way with a scalpel
allows him to reposition the mus-
cles in a more youthful fashion –
lifting the cheeks, sharpening the
jawline and defining the neck – and
bring new energy to the face. The
end result is startlingly natural, still
‘you’ – albeit the best version.

ONE YEAR: RESTORE
LOST YOUTH
What Facelift with Rajiv Grover
The low-down Surgery in the run-
up to a wedding might not be for
everyone, but for some members of
the congregation (the mother-of-
the-bride, perhaps) a facelift can
work wonders to restore confidence
- and former bone structure. Three
months before the big day is the
optimum time, though you’ll want
to go in for a consultation long before
this – there’s a lot to be discussed
and meticulous planning is key.
