Mimi Wade
‘I’ve always been interested in creating my own
world,’ says London-based designer Mimi
Wade. It’s a world that’s steeped in references
to Old Hollywood, whether that’s Fifties films
or powerful female pin-ups, both homages to
Mimi’s starlet grandmother, Pamela Curran,
a Hollywood actress who shone in the 1958
Steve McQueen cult horror movie The Blob.
How does she stay inspired? ‘By keeping a
sense of childlike wonder.’
