wood-stock version when you can have your
hand in the thumb-up position. However, that
was the only quibble with the rifle.

HAPPY DAYS
My initial first three shots were slightly low and
right, but with minimal adjustment of windage
and elevation the next five shots went straight
into the 10 ring; this was shooting benchrested
at 10m. Admittedly, the distance was short and
supported benchrested, but this rifle is capable
of the same grouping at much further
distances, which the original RM8 has already
proved. With all other stances, I hit the
spinners on my Bisley Snooker Spinner target
consistently and with ease. My son also had a
try of the rifle as one of those ‘right-handed
shooters’ and he found it great, too. The
disengaging of the safety catch didn’t bother
him, so maybe it just was me being picky. He
was hitting all the spinners and getting good
grouping, too.

comfortable and quick sight picture from the
Walther scope. I’m a ‘leftie’ and the contoured
stock comb on ‘my’ side fitted really well
indeed.
Going back to the bolt, trying to cock it with
the left hand is awkward because I have to
bring my arm over the scope, whilst my right
arm supports the forestock so, for me, using
my support arm to cock the rifle works fine

  • just use your normal safety procedures and
make sure that your trigger finger is away from
the trigger. When shooting off a bipod, or
support, I can get shots off quickly because my
trigger hand never comes off the grip – always
    think of the positives!
The trigger itself is two-stage with a short
    first-stage and then the second-stage has a
very smooth let off. I could not fault the trigger
at all. The safety comes on automatically once
the rifle is cocked, and you must come out of
the firing position to disengage it because the
thumbhole is in the way; this compared to the

One of the best

I’ve ever used.

choice.

It’s so
impressive from
the bench.

My 5-shot group;
not bad eh!

For me, the RM8 UC is in an ideal hunting
air rifle. I would definitely love to try this on an
HFT course to see its true potential. It has a
180 shot count, so you could do a few courses
and then spend time on the plinking range.
That would make a happy day’s shooting
indeed!
