THE BIG GAMBLE
SEASON 7 David invited Valerie, Clare
and Steve on an all-expenses-paid trip to
Las Vegas, where they caught Ray
performing. But an increasingly reckless
David spiraled out of control—drinking,
gambling, even picking up a pair of
prostitutes who took him to a cheap
hotel where they drugged him. He woke
up missing his credit cards, his cash—and
his clothes. Riding to the rescue,
Donna flew in from Beverly Hills to
comfort her embarrassed and remorseful
ex, assuring him that from now on she
would always be there for him.
STAIRWAY
TO HELL
SEASON 5 Donna’s
already rocky romantic
relationship with Ray took
a disturbing, violent turn.
During a trip to a high-end
Palm Springs resort, the
pair argued and an
exasperated Donna
attempted to walk away
from Ray. He grabbed her,
sending her tumbling to
the bottom of a flight of
stairs. Donna sprained her
arm, and Ray insisted that
what happened was an
accident. Although she
initially covered for him,
over time Donna began to
realize that his violent
temper was a threat to her
well-being. In season 6,
when she learned that Ray
had cheated on her with
Valerie—twice—she broke
up with him and moved on,
dating a new beau,
quarterback Joe Bradley.
That’s when Ray began
harassing her, insisting that
Joe wasn’t right for her.
Thankfully for Donna, her
boyfriend-stalker
eventually took his anger
issues and got out of
Beverly Hills.
