Lledo resin prototype
for VA1003B
This model was to be the other
half of the Broadspeed Racing
Anglias set: a white and gold
Ford Anglia as driven by
Anita Taylor for Team Broad-
speed during the 1960s. The
decoration is very similar to its
sibling, except for the fact that
the racing number is 7 and it
has Anita Taylor’s name on the
roof above each door. The pro-
totype features a black interior
and minilite wheels. It is also

devoid of any bump-
ers, wing mirrors or
registration plates,
but, once again,
appears to be very
close to the production model
that went on to be released.

Lledo Vanguards resin
prototype for VA1005
This is the prototype for the
final production model of the
Ford Anglia, issued as one half
of the Heartbeat set (the other
model being a green Triumph
Herald). It's based on the
sergeant’s black Ford Anglia
police car. The prototype is ,
as you'd expect, painted black,
with a grey interior and a black
steering wheel. The silver

wheels sport silver plated
hubcaps. The ‘Police’ signs at
the front and rear come in the
form of stickers, and the model
carries the correct to prototype
number plates of MVN 478C.

Aston’s Lot 111
I’ll start with the six resin
prototypes included in this
Lot, which, like the saloons,
all feature a smooth black
base with the Turner Models
logo imprinted and the date
31.3.1995 engraved under the
front axle. All have a silver
painted front grille and
bumpers, as well has having
the door handles, badges and
wipers picked out with silver
paint. Nearly
every one
features
wing

mirrors (or what’s left of them)
and registration plates. As
with the previous saloons,
the wing mirrors for the final
production models were
supplied on a little plastic
sprue for the purchaser to fit.
Similarly, there was a selec-
tion of registration numbers to
choose from, which could be
stuck onto the front and rear
plates. All of the vans featured
decoration in the form of stick-
ers, which, understandably
have started to peel around
the corners here and there.

Lledo Vanguards resin
prototype for VA4001, A A
The prototype for the
Automobile Association (A A)
Van is, not
surprisingly,
finished in
yellow and
features a
yellow plastic
headboard just
above the front
doors, with an A A

Another resin prototype, this a décor trial sample
for Anita Taylor’s Broadspeed Anglia.

A fine display pairing, Adrian’s two Broadspeed
Ford Anglia prototypes.

Note how Adrian’s Police prototype and the Heartbeat set
Sergeant’s car looking remarkably similar.

The generically liveried Vanguards
Ford Anglia Police Car prototype.

When looking at these van baseplates, it’s very easy to differentiate between
the resin prototypes and the diecast pre-production colour samples.
