site with products and content. As well
as the core site build, we also customised
a number of Shopify plugins to achieve
some of the functionality requirements
such as the ‘measuring guide’ pop up,
advanced customer accounts with
multiple profiles (for both humans and
dogs!) and logistical integrations.

Last year you rebranded from Hive Social
into Noughts & Ones. Could you tell us a
bit about this process?
TL: By 2018 Hive Social had been the
company name for almost four years and
the actual offering had evolved quite far
from my first days of freelancing. In
short, the name and brand identity were
no longer fit for purpose.
Rebranding was something that had
been on my mind for at least a year, if
not more – I was scared of committing to
that change. But when we moved to our
first private office, it really felt like the
right time.
We hired an incredible branding
agency that worked closely with us to
realise exactly who we were, what our
brand values are and what types of
clients we really wanted to partner with.
Armed with these invaluable insights,
the new brand was born. Since then,

we’ve been working really hard to refine
our proposition and target market to
grow the Noughts & Ones brand.
Plus, how cool is Noughts & Ones as a
name for a development agency?!

You have some interesting plans coming
up. Tell us about N&O Labs.
TL: This year we’re looking to launch a
new part of the agency that we’re really
excited about: N&O Labs! We’re teaming
up with a number of creative partners to
start designing and building Shopify
themes that will be available for
designers, developers and Shopify
customers. We’ve also (recently)
implemented a number of custom
solutions for various clients that we
feel could benefit every Shopify website,
so we’re also working on packaging
these up and publishing them as plugins
or apps!

What does the rest of 2019 look like for
Noughts & Ones?
TL: 2019 is all about growth for Noughts
& Ones! We’ve got ambitious plans to
expand our team of ‘coders with
character’, continue forging new
relationships with creative agencies as
their go-to development partners and
launch N&O Labs.
